About Our Organization
Little Promises Project (LPP) started in 2021 with one goal in mind: to remove barriers preventing NICU parents from visiting their newborn staying in the NICU. Many researches have proved again and again the importance of a mother's physical contact with their newborn for brain development, nervous system regulation, increased sleep state, and pain management. Mothers should expect to visit their baby 6 days per week throughout the NICU stay. That being said, only 28% of mothers visit their NICU baby everyday and only 2% of fathers do. There are many reasons why parents don't visit as often as expected due to personal reasons like lack of access to transportation, living too far from the hospital, and sometimes not having enough paid maternity leave. While we can't help with the maternity leave part just yet, we can give monetary gifts for gas, Uber, food, nipple creams, blankets, etc.

In order to request for assistance (1) Please contact your NICU social worker to see if you're qualified (2) You will then receive an email from us providing you with more information and a link to a short before assistance survey (3) Each Monday, we will send out an email with a link to a weekly request form (the form can also be found on this website) (4) One of our team member will personally deliver the package to you on the day of request (if we don't catch you, we will leave the stuff with the NICU social worker). (5) Once your baby graduate, we will send out a (also very short) post assistance survey, just so we know how much impact we made and if there are areas where we can improve.
